Brampton 2040 Vision Spikes Development Boom

1.3 min read

The city of Brampton is undergoing many developmental changes, and it’s not stopping anytime soon. As part of the Brampton 2040 Vision plan created back in 2018, various facets such as environment, jobs, urban centers, neighbourhoods, transportation, social matters, health, and arts and culture were considered to promote the city’s growth further. However, the city’s multi-residential sector has peaked significant interest from builders.

National Homes president and managing partner Jason Pantalone stated, “I look at Brampton as what Mississauga was 20 years ago. Now, the opportunity to provide intensification along major avenues and transit routes is great. The planning staff has come on side with that now. Previously there was more resistance; now, you can see, from the top down, there is a direction to promote smart development that has good planning behind it.”

The redevelopment of Shoppers World is a part of these plans and will be spearheaded by RioCan REIT over the next 20 years.
