Commercial Property Spotlight: 49-51 Yonge Street

A new addition to the Toronto skyline will soon stand tall at the corner of Yonge Street and Wellington Street East. 49-51 Yonge Street is a proposed redevelopment of two existing heritage buildings, envisioned by SmartLiving, SmartCentre’s residential development wing.
The mixed-use, 60 storey development will preserve and restore the façade of the existing heritage buildings and will comprise 56 storeys of residential space, 4 storeys of office space, and just over 1,700 square metres of commercial space. In par with the city’s attempt to loosen mandatory minimum parking requirements, the building will house 284 bicycle parking spaces for residents.
To ensure the integrity of the existing buildings are maintained, SmartLiving is collaborating with architects-Alliance and GBCA as the architect and heritage architect on record for this project.
