Yonge and Eglinton, one of Toronto's most prestigious communities, will soon transform into an urban-living hub, with a newly revamped mixed-use development proposed to sit at the corner of the notable intersection. Oxford Properties' $2.5 billion plan for a redevelopment of the existing Canada Square site will include 3 million square feet of residential, office and retail space and nearly 9.2 acres of parkland.
The site comprises four office blocks with retail space, parking garages, a bus depot and a future light rail transit line. The master plan, in its entirety, is separated into precincts tasked to varying architects to achieve one common goal—creating a destination at the heart of Yonge and Eglinton that will embrace and connect the surrounding area while adding value to the community.
As demand for dense urban living is rising, many individuals and businesses are looking to call neighbourhoods outside the downtown core home. "Canada Square" will accommodate our new reality and increase occupancy in midtown Toronto.
