Mississauga’s city center could see several high-rise additions proposed by The Elia Corporation. The extensive 9-tower development would surround the existing Mississauga Marketplace Mall between Eglinton ave. E and Elia ave. 

Nearly 4,700 residential units, 4,300 square feet of retail space, and 18,000 square metres of office space comprise the development, offering residents a place to live, work and play. But it doesn’t stop there. Plans for a 9,000 square metre park will be at the center of the development to provide scenic relief.

“From an intensification perspective, the site is an ideal location for high-density development given its large site size, separation from nearby low-rise residential uses, and proximity to existing and planned transit and amenities. Within a Major Transit Station Area, it is located at the intersection of two major streets. It is within an identified Intensification Area within the City’s Official Plan,” the development application filings read.

If approved, the development could add more than 10,000 residents to the area, almost doubling the local neighbourhood’s population.
