The Royal LePage Commercial Story

Over 100 years of Canadian real estate heritage- that is the legacy that Royal LePage has brought to the table. As the real estate business continues to evolve to meet our society's changing needs, Royal LePage is leading the way.

All dreams start somewhere, and for Royal LePage, it began in the very city we call home, Toronto. On July 2nd, 1913, founder Albert E. LePage established his real estate company, 'A.E. LePage- The Bungalow Specialist.' Who would've known that this would later become the most influential real estate companies our country has ever seen?

His career quickly took off and was soon known as an expert in the field. In 1920, A.E LePage played an instrumental role in the founding of the Toronto Real Estate Board, marking a historical day in Canadian real estate history.

From then on, LePage continued to pave the way for the future of Canadian real estate. In 1984, A. E LePage and Royal Trust merged to form what we know today as Royal LePage.

Royal LePage is the gold standard of professional development, with commercial real estate success rooted in its history. As a company, we've played a vital role in acquiring significant commercial real estate projects in Toronto, such as Casa Loma, the Toronto-Dominion Centre, the Toronto Stock Exchange, College Park, Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, and more.

CASA LOMA

Before Casa Loma was taken over by the City of Toronto in 1933 for non-payment of taxes, Royal LePage was said to have secured its listing.

TORONTO DOMINION CENTRE

In the 1960’s, Royal LePage played a pivotal role in the land assembly and office leasing of the Toronto-Dominion Centre, the largest project of its time.

COMMERCIAL REALTY

Between 1974 and 1979 Royal LePage acquired more than 50 mid-sized firms across Canada to become the largest real estate company in Canada.

TSE

Royal LePage and its focus on commercial real estate continue to expand its reach into unchartered territory, leading the way for the real estate world within our borders.

As said by Phil Soper, President and CEO of the empire, “Royal LePage’s history is a story of our realtors and the distinct values that differentiate them from the fray. It illustrates the character of our company through the beliefs and behaviours of its people, past and present. It is a celebration of can-do spirit, creativity, integrity, commitment to service, excellence, and love of the industry and clients that they serve.”

And to that, we tip our hats.
