Tell us a bit about the history of Royal LePage Commercial.

Royal LePage Commercial pioneered the commercial real estate industry over 100 years ago. Both clients and agents who were in the business before 2006 are very familiar with the brand. In 2006 the company was sold. Shortly after, a restriction on the use of the Royal LePage Commercial name was imposed. Those restrictions were lifted a couple of years ago, which is why many new agents are now seeing us for the first time, which is exciting.

What type of real estate does this brokerage specialize in, and why?

Our brokerage focuses exclusively on commercial real estate transactions, primarily in the service of sales and leasing of commercial properties. It's important for our agents and our clients that they know we are experts in this market. 

How extensive is the network of Royal LePage Commercial agents in Ontario and Canada?

Approximately 140 in GTA and over 230 in Ontario, and that number is growing. That makes us one of the largest, if not the largest commercial brokerage in the province.

What differentiates Royal LePage Commercial from the competition?

Our approach to actively supporting agents – our management team focuses on our agent's success because if they succeed, so does the brokerage. Gone are the days of data and marketing support as being the differentiating factors for brokerages. Both of those are now commodities and are available to anyone, not just specific brokerages. We focus on leveraging technology to help find our agent's new business.

How does the office location benefit agents' business growth?

We are located in North York, minutes to major 400 series highways, and near subway stations and TTC bus routes to allow agents to get around quickly, with minimal time wasted.

Why is a collaborative environment so important in commercial real estate?

There are so many unique transactional opportunities for commercial real estate agents that it only makes sense to bring in others with a complementary skill set to help get a deal done. This also provides the best results for our clients. Each agent in our office has a unique lens when looking for real estate solutions, and we leverage this to win business.

What types of continuous learning opportunities does the brokerage offer?

We offer practise groups and monthly roundtables with industry experts. For newer agents, we have senior brokers who provide mentorship opportunities. Ultimately agents learn the most when they are actively engaged in working on deals, so we focus a lot of time on generating new leads for our agents.

What technologies or services does the brokerage offer?

We offer access to the best commercial real estate data in the business through our partners at CoStar and Altus Group, in-house marketing support, and, most importantly, lead generation opportunities using AI technology.
