Scotiabank Says Goodbye To King Street W After Over 40 Years

46 sec read

After over 40 years, the Bank of Nova Scotia is said to be leaving the top two floors of King Street West in Downtown Toronto. The office space has not been vacant since its opening back in 1980, making this a highly sought after opportunity to be hitting the market in 2023.

The decision came as apart of their office setup revamp throughout the city, with plans to supplement the investment by renewing 560,000 square feet of space in the Scotia Plaza complex, one of Canada’s largest skyscrapers.

Major tenants in the downtown core are not far behind and have already begun rethink their office strategy. Talks of permanent work from home situations are becoming more prevalent for companies that used to line the city streets.

Those with plans to return to the office when it is safe to do so may revaluate the traditional office atmosphere to adjust to the new norm.
