Arya Seeks to Build A New Mixed-Use Development in Scarborough

Scarborough could see some significant changes in years to come, as a recently submitted rezoning application to the City of Toronto proposes a new mixed-use development.
The Arya Corporation seeks to transform the intersection of Markham Road and Ellesmere Road, which now houses commercial buildings. If approved, the development will be located in the heart of the city’s Woburn neighbourhood and will comprise residential buildings and a variety of public spaces.
The first project to come out of the redevelopment will be a 1,000 unit condo complex spanned across four towers. To follow, new public space including a park, walkways and pedestrian connections will create a central hub for residents and visitors alike. Grade-related retail will also run along Markham Road, further adding to the development versatility.
