Commercial Property Spotlight: KESKUS International Estonian Centre

1 min read

Canada, specifically Toronto, are known for its cultural diversity. The KESKUS International Estonian Centre, a new cultural centre located at 9 Madison Avenue in downtown Toronto, aims to connect Estonians worldwide by showcasing their heritage and innovation.

This new cornerstone of Estonian culture, business, and community welcomes everyone and is supported by donations from around the world. The Government of Canada contributed over $750,000 to the project.

Designed by Kongats Architects, the 36,000 square foot cultural centre will feature an Estonia-shaped courtyard with an abundance of greenery, an Estonian-inspired bistro, classrooms hosting Estonian classes, a 1,600 square foot community room, a business centre, a rooftop garden, and music room.

Once inside the building, the main attraction is the 300-seat, theatre-style space adjacent to a commercial catering kitchen for hosting events.

The KESKUS centre is located nearby a main subway stop, allowing many people to visit the new community hub once it's open to the public.

The project began construction in 2022 and is projected to open in 2024.
