CRE Cybersecurity Action Plan

1 min read

Technology has come a long way and has changed almost every facet of our lives, including commercial real estate. Although providing an abundance of benefits, it is important to be prepared in case of potential online threats. That is why it is vital for commercial real estate owners to consider ways to protect their business from cybersecurity attacks.

To help you do so, below are 4 steps that will better prepare you to respond and protect your business from cybersecurity threats:

  1. Identifying your risks – Perform a detailed assessment to determine if any security gaps exist.

  2. Tend to risks by priority – After you have conducted an assessment to determine your most prominent risks, you can now determine which ones to prioritize.

  3. Monitor your adjustments – Once changes have been made to improve your liability to security risks, it’s important to conduct ongoing monitoring to determine whether the adjustments you made are effective and no new risks have been created.

  4. Create a thorough action plan – It’s important to prepare a detailed incident response and crisis management plan in the event something does go wrong, ensuring your team knows the proper steps to follow.

Following these simple steps can help mitigate the potential threats your commercial real estate business could face in this increasingly virtual world.
